Is Alcohol Vegan?

According to a Forbes article, GlobalData has found that 70% of the population is reducing its meat consumption or are completing laying off the table altogether. This generation which is often labelled as selfish and self-centred has been the one spreading this dietary change.

This shift towards a plant-based diet has been driven by the “Self-care” culture by Millennials, who are extremely likely to consider many options before consuming food or drink, such as environmental impacts, animal welfare, food source etc.

So when it comes to alcohol, the same question arises. Many of us, many times have been guilty of not checking if certain beers are vegan-friendly or no. So to avoid being ignorant, it is a good idea to do a bit of soul searching.

Fortunately, it is relatively easy to find vegan alcohol. With the help of a little research, you can find out whether some spirits like beer and wine can be made using animal products like egg whites, isinglass, or gelatin. These ingredients are mostly never listed on the label because the alcohol community is exempt from the labelling requirements of food products.

The good news is that practically every brand of hard liquor is began. Almost all distilled spirits are vegan except cream-based liqueurs and products that have honey listed in the ingredients.

We give you a list of a few vegan spirits:
